Brazil at Heart exhibition opens for the general public in London

The Brazil at Heart exhibition, at the Brazilian embassy in London, opened its doors to the general public last Saturday (28.07). The Minister of Sport Aldo Rebelo welcomed the visitors: "Everything looks really beautiful.  I am sure that everyone will enjoy the exhibition and will be able to see our country's riches".

The Minister also had the opportunity to see a little more of some of the projects on show, such as the clock designed by Hans Donner. Furthermore, the Minister accepted the challenge made by 'virtual Neymar' and attempted some kick ups.

Those who had the opportunity to visit the exhibition liked it. "Everything looks really beautiful. We are thinking of going to Rio de Janeiro in 2016", said Eduardo, a Portuguese tourist. He was there with his family and pointed out that he already knew Brazil was a technological power. "At the technological level, Brazil is ahead of other countries in Europe, including Portugal".

Brazilian Edward Sarmento and his British wife Catherine also visited the exhibition with their three kids. He congratulated the initiative: "Brazil has to show other aspects. We are not only the sixth economy in the world, but we are also going to host the next World Cup and the next Olympic Games. I really liked this initiative and everything I have seen so far". Having lived in London for over seven years, the family is planning to move to Brazil. "We will move there next year, due to the better living conditions the country is offering today", stated Sarmento.

Visitors from all over the world are received at Brazil at Heart to the sound of samba played by the Heróis do Botequim (Heroes of the Bar) and with traditional flavours, such as the pão de queijo (cheese bread) from the state of Minas Gerais and Brazilian coffee (supplied by the Brazilian Coffee Association).

The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday, from 12.00 to 18.00 at Brazil's new embassy in London until the 2nd of September.  On Wednesdays, starting at 16.00, the general public will be able to watch Brazilian films.  The happy hour lasts a bit longer and goes on until 21.00.

On the first day it was open to the general public, 561 people visited the exhibition.
